Materials:
- Present a slideshow and review adjectives and introduce the five senses (touch, smell, hear, feel, see).
- The presentation aims to help students use adjectives that describe more that what they see.
- Following the presentation, explain the adjective game.
- Separate kids into groups.
- show a picture on the smart board.
- Teams will work together to come up with as many adjectives as they can that describe the image.
- Then take turns to share all adjectives that have been written down on the dry erase boards.
- Teams will get one point for every adjective that describes the picture.
Lesson (20 minutes)
- Play the adjective game.
Extension/wrap-up (5-10 minutes)
- Review the images and go over the additional adjectives that could have been used to describe the images.
